Seeing the widely scattered Indian diaspora, the Global Indian Cultural Centre (GICC)- was set up to preserve the tradition of Indian art and culture abroad. The Centre’s teachings are closely based on Mahatma Gandhi’s ideologies of swadeshi, non-violence and respect for all. In light of this philosophy, the Global Indian Cultural Centre is a secular, non-political organisation, which is open to all, regardless of race, sex or creed. It offers classes and activities in languages, music, yoga and philosophy. The Centre also acts as community hubs for parents.
