To my mind an educational institute is not just about walls made up of bricks, grout and concrete, but about building character, enriching minds and experiences that last a lifetime. Today, the role of a school is not only to pursue academic excellence, but also to motivate and empower its students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever-changing global society. A school must try to provide its students with an atmosphere for multidimensional development, where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence, which is my motive.
Hence, for nurturing global citizens, we have to focus on a child-centred teaching process, and at the same time instil thinking and decision-making process through art and activity-based learning. Throughout the school year, we organise a wide range of activities to encourage students develop a holistic and well-balanced personality through diverse learning opportunities.
In recent times, we have experienced a paradigm shift in the basic approach to education. We, at GIIS Bangkok Campus, Thailand have taken endeavours to focus the on all-round development of our students by encouraging engagement in extracurricular activities and community service efforts. This is a continuous and creative process which will enable children to express their identity and explore their inner potential.
It has been overwhelming to see our students succeed in various areas, carving a niche for themselves through their potential, talent and abilities – in academics as well as sports and co curricular activities.
We will continue our efforts to further improve the delivery of high quality education to our students, in order to shape their IQ, EQ, AQ, MQ and NQ in the best possible manner so that they could be true leaders of a global society.
